As an owner / Managing Director of an SME for 20 years, Andy has experienced all aspects of managing a business, from business structuring, negotiating solutions, empathising and empowering a team of up to 30 people, working through a voluntary administration, as well as recently selling his business to pursue a new career in consulting.

Andy started his career in the UK in Process Control and Instrumentation manufacturing. Soon after arrival in Australia in 1975 he took up a position with Pyrosales, specialising in temperature measurement, managing sales and production control.

Andy went on to purchase Pyrosales from the retiring founder some time later and was Managing Director for 20 years. During this time the company had grown to $6M, and a staff of 30 staff with sales and manufacturing in three eastern states.

In 2003 the directors placed Pyrosales into Voluntary Administration following a downturn in business and cash flow problems. Under Andy’s leadership the company was returned to being a profitable business with a promising future. He has subsequently sold the business in November 2007.
